Overview:

Atlantic Aqua Farms is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President, Finance to serve as the company’s senior financial leader and a key member of the executive team. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is responsible for providing financial leadership across the organization, supporting business growth, and ensuring the company has the financial structure, systems, and insights required to achieve its long-term objectives.

The Vice

President, Finance will oversee the Finance, Accounting, and Information Technology functions while partnering closely with the executive leadership team, and operational leaders on strategic planning, capital allocation, financial performance, business transformation, and acquisition opportunities.

This position is based at our head office in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and is not a remote or hybrid role. Some travel within North America, and occasional international travel, is required. The successful candidate must hold a valid passport and driver’s licence and be available to travel approximately 10% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Lead strategic financial planning, reporting, forecasting, and analysis to support executive decision-making and long-term value creation
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to the CEO,



senior leadership team, and Audit Committee
- Lead the modernization and transformation of financial systems, processes, reporting, and internal controls
- Build a high-performing team and develop an organizational structure that supports the company’s stage of growth and evolving business needs in Canada and the United States.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Finance and IT teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare accurate, timely, and high-quality quarterly financial updates for the CEO and Board of Directors, while improving and standardizing the reporting process.
- Develop, implement, and lead the company’s annual budgeting and planning processes
- Review and approve monthly financial statements, ensuring they are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Collaborate with the CEO on mergers and acquisitions, scenario planning, and capital and financing structure
- Provide financial planning and analysis support and guidance to the CCO and COO
- Oversee the company’s IT strategy and ensure it is aligned with business priorities and company objectives.

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Oversee the company’s insurance program and coverage requirements
- Manage the relationship with the company’s external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process
- Develop processes and tools to improve expense tracking, analysis, and reporting
- Oversee financial compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and reporting requirements.




- Partner with IT to automate and improve reporting systems for the Accounting and Finance functions
- Review company expenditures and financial processes to identify risks, efficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Develop financial forecasts, models, and scenarios to support strategic and operational planning
- Oversee payroll and tax activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.

Qualifications:

- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role (VP Finance, Director of Finance, Controller, CFO, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated success building, leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
- Demonstrated experience leading finance, accounting, planning, reporting, controls, and audit activities in a complex or growing organization
- Strong business acumen and the ability to translate financial information into clear, practical insights for executives, operational leaders, and the Board of Directors
- Experience with SAP and mergers & acquisitions would be considered an asset.

Leadership Approach:

The successful candidate will be hands-on, action-oriented, cooperative, and comfortable balancing strategic leadership with practical execution. This position will play a significant role in overall site leadership and driving employee engagement.

Compensation: $150,000 - $185,000 (+ Bonus potential)

Individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
