JOB SUMMARY
We’re looking for two creative, reliable, and story-driven individuals. One Videographer & one Video Editor to join a current YouTube reality series being developed from the ground up. This is not a traditional scripted production. The concept is centered around real life, real experiences, real emotions, and the unfiltered moments in between.
The series follows the life of a model/influencer as she navigates her career, relationships, friendships, lifestyle, personal growth, everyday chaos and everything that comes with living life in front of and behind the camera.
Think: happy, sad, glamorous, awkward, emotional, funny, messy, spontaneous — all of it.
We want the audience to feel like they’re genuinely stepping into her world.
THE ROLE
Videographer:
You’ll be responsible for capturing a mixture of planned and spontaneous moments, including:
- Lifestyle and day-in-the-life footage
- Events, outings, travel, social gatherings and behind-the-scenes moments
- Interviews and conversations
- Emotional and vulnerable moments
- Candid interactions
- Fashion, beauty and lifestyle content
- Spontaneous/unplanned moments that naturally happen throughout the day
- B-roll and establishing shots that help tell the story
The goal is not to make everything look overly staged or polished. We want footage that feels cinematic while still maintaining the raw, intimate feeling of reality television. You should have a good eye for composition, lighting, movement, framing and storytelling, and understand when to simply let a moment unfold rather than constantly directing it.
Equipment:
Applicants should have access to a recent iPhone capable of high-quality video or, preferably, a professional/semiprofessional video camera, along with equipment appropriate for producing high-quality YouTube content.
Depending on your setup, useful equipment may include:
- Camera capable of shooting high-quality video
- Stabilizer/gimbal
- Tripod
- External microphone/audio equipment
- Portable lighting
- Extra batteries and storage
- Other equipment necessary for capturing clean, professional footage
- Good audio is just as important as good video.
Video Editor The editor will take potentially large amounts of raw footage and turn it into a compelling 50–60 minute episode. You should be comfortable working with substantial amounts of footage and making strong editorial decisions about what stays, what goes, and what helps move the story forward.
Responsibilities may include
- Reviewing and organizing large volumes of raw footage
- Identifying the strongest, funniest, most emotional and most authentic moments
- Creating a clear narrative/storyline from unscripted footage
- Cutting footage down into approximately 50–60 minute episodes
- Maintaining pacing and audience engagement
- Cleaning and balancing dialogue/audio
- Adding appropriate music and sound effects
- Colour correction/grading
- Adding titles, transitions and graphics where appropriate
- Creating teasers, trailers, Shorts/Reels/TikToks from episode footage
- Maintaining continuity between scenes and episodes
- Knowing when less editing is more so the reality of the moment isn't lost
We are looking for an editor who understands that reality television is about storytelling, not simply putting clips together.
THE RIGHT PERSON
You don't necessarily need years of television experience. What matters most is having good instincts, creativity and a strong understanding of visual storytelling.
You should be
- Creative and visually minded
- Comfortable filming in unpredictable environments
- Comfortable capturing vulnerable or emotional moments respectfully
- Discreet and professional
- Able to work independently
- Comfortable around personalities and social situations
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Able to handle large amounts of footage
- Strong with pacing and storytelling
- Comfortable working with unscripted content
- Reliable and able to meet agreed deadlines
- Open to feedback and collaboration
- Comfortable with the fast-moving nature of content creation
Most importantly, you should understand the difference between capturing a moment and interrupting a moment. Sometimes the best footage is the shot nobody planned.
THE SHOW The vision is to create a reality series that feels personal, entertaining, stylish and authentic.
There will be glamour, fashion, events and the fun side of life — but there will also be vulnerability, difficult conversations, uncertainty, mistakes, awkward moments and the realities of being a public-facing woman trying to navigate life.
We don't want to manufacture drama just for the sake of drama.
We want real life to be the story.
The camera should feel like a fly on the wall while still producing footage that looks polished enough for a professional YouTube series.
LOCATION
Calgary, Alberta
Some filming may take place locally, with potential opportunities for travel depending on the production and episode.
COMPENSATION
Payment/compensation will be discussed based on experience, equipment, scope of work and availability.
This can be structured as per filming day, per episode, or another mutually agreed arrangement.
We are looking for someone interested in building something long-term, rather than simply completing a one-off project.

- Location
- A brief introduction about yourself
- Your videography/editing experience
- The equipment you currently have access to

If you have experience filming reality, documentary, lifestyle, fashion, influencer or YouTube content, please highlight it. If you’re someone who can look at hours of footage and think, “I know exactly where the story is,” we want to hear from you.
Let’s build something real from the ground up.
