GMAW Weld Technician
Egar Tool and Die Ltd. is pleased to offer Full-Time employment opportunities within our Assembly Department.
The GMAW Weld Technician plays a critical role in supporting our robotic welding operations, ensuring high-quality, dimensionally accurate components are delivered to our customers. This position requires a hands-on, technically skilled individual who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment while meeting production targets.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and optimize robotic GMAW welding parameters to maintain weld quality, dimensional accuracy, and cycle time.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose robotic welding cells, weld controls, and peripheral equipment to minimize downtime.
- Perform routine robot and welding equipment maintenance, including torches, wire feeders, fixtures, and tooling.
- Conduct weld inspections, identify defects, and perform rework as required to meet quality standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to weld quality, efficiency, and process stability.
- Assist with robot changeovers, program adjustments, and fixture verification.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to resolve production and quality issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to weld parameters, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Follow all health, safety, and quality system requirements, including IATF 16949 standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive robotic welding required.
- Certified GMAW Weld Technician or equivalent certification from an accredited college.
- Working knowledge of Fanuc, ABB, and/or Lincoln robotic welding systems.
- Strong understanding of automotive quality systems (TS 16949 / IATF 16949).
- Proven ability in weld inspection, defect identification, and rework.
- Solid mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, make sound decisions, adapt to changing priorities, and problem-solve effectively.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary information:
- $27 – 37 per hour based on experience and ability.
