Institute’s Calgary Zoo is actively looking for a full-time Associate Veterinarian with robust experience in zoological medicine. Candidates should have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and at least three years of relevant veterinary experience, preferably with prior internships or residencies. Strong interpersonal skills and team collaboration are essential components for success. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily veterinary care and health assessments
- Perform critical surgeries and manage pathologies
- Work alongside the Animal Health and Welfare team
- Participate in the zoo's emergency planning and response
- Communicate effectively with all zoo stakeholders Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with Alberta practice license
- Minimum of three years' experience in zoological settings
- Eligible or certified by ACZM
- Excellent communication and judgment capabilities
- Successfully manage emergency situations Play a crucial role in wildlife health and conservation efforts as a key member of the Calgary Zoo team.
