Sloped Roofing Service Technician Rain Safe Roofing is looking for an experienced Sloped Roofing Service Technician to join our team. We’re looking for someone who is confident working on residential asphalt shingle roofs and has strong troubleshooting and customer-service skills. This position is ideal for an experienced roofer who enjoys diagnosing problems, finding solutions, performing quality repairs, and dealing directly with homeowners. What You’ll Be Doing * Perform asphalt shingle repairs, including replacing damaged or missing shingles * Diagnose and repair roof leaks and water-intrusion issues * Perform detailed roof inspections and identify areas of concern * Inspect attics for signs of leaks, moisture, mould, ventilation issues and damage * Assess the overall condition of roofing systems and determine appropriate solutions * Inspect and troubleshoot flashing, valleys, vents, chimneys, skylights and roof penetrations * Identify issues with roof ventilation, including intake and exhaust ventilation * Perform repairs to flashing, pipe flashings, vents and other roofing components * Determine whether a roof requires a repair, maintenance, or full replacement * Take clear photos and documentation of deficiencies and completed work * Explain roofing problems and recommended solutions to homeowners in a professional and easy-to-understand manner * Provide customers with repair recommendations and communicate the scope of work * Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship * Identify additional roofing issues that may require attention * Maintain a clean and safe work area * Ensure all work is completed according to manufacturer specifications and good roofing practices What We’re Looking For * 5+ years of residential roofing experience preferred * Strong experience with asphalt shingles * Ability to accurately diagnose roof leaks and roofing deficiencies * Comfortable performing roof and attic inspections * Strong understanding of roofing components and how they work together * Knowledge of flashing, ventilation, underlayment, ice & water protection and roof penetrations * Able to safely work on steep/sloped roofs * Comfortable using ladders and working at heights * Strong attention to detail * Excellent problem-solving skills * Qualified appearance and communication * Able to communicate clearly with homeowners * Reliable, punctual and able to work independently * Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation * Own basic roofing hand tools * Working at Heights certification required * WHMIS and other safety training considered an asset You Should Be Someone Who… * Takes pride in doing the job properly the first time * Can look at a roof and figure out what is actually causing the problem * Doesn’t just patch a leak without understanding why it happened * Can explain roofing problems to a homeowner without using confusing industry jargon * Is comfortable working independently and making decisions in the field * Has excellent attention to detail * Understands that the customer experience is just as important as the repair itself What We Offer * Competitive pay based on experience * Steady service work * Opportunity for additional hours and larger roofing projects * Company support and training * Quality-focused work environment * Opportunity for advancement within a growing roofing company If you’re an experienced roofer who enjoys troubleshooting, repairs and working directly with homeowners, we’d like to hear from you.
