Support marginalized individuals in a reliable environment as a Full Time Support Worker at Shelter Nova Scotia. Contribute to inclusive community spaces within two dedicated shelters.

In this role, you will work full time in one of our emergency shelters. Your focus will be on assisting individuals who may be dealing with various challenges, such as mental health issues and substance misuse. Responsibilities include ensuring the safety and well-being of guests while providing support without judgment.

Key Responsibilities:



• Provide assistance to individuals in emergency shelter settings • Oversee daily activities and ensure guest safety • Assist in meal preparation and distribution • Help guests access personal care and comfort items • Maintain an awake and alert presence during shifts

Requirements: • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience required • Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check • Standard First Aid/CPR Level “C” certification required • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on rotation • Compassionate approach to individuals from diverse backgrounds
