- Prepare project-related technical documents, including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, cost estimates, and drawings
- Manage and oversee environmental investigations and remediation activities
- Conduct site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, and vapour sampling
- Work on Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments, environmental monitoring, and soil/groundwater management projects
- Coordinate and schedule project-related work with GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities
- Obtain project permits
- Mentor and support junior staff in field activities, reporting, and technical skill development
- Support brownfield redevelopment, hydrogeological investigations and assessments, environmental services, and long-term operation, maintenance, and monitoring of remedial systems and risk management measures
Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor of Environmental/Civil Engineering or Environmental Science degree, or equivalent
- 4–10 years of experience in the environmental field
- Ability to obtain a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo) designation is an asset
- Fundamental knowledge of, or strong interest in developing skills related to, contaminated site assessment and remediation
- Knowledge of hydrogeological investigations, contaminant migration analysis, and environmental due diligence
- Knowledge of Ontario regulatory frameworks including O. Reg. 153/04 and O. Reg. 406/19
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail
- Flexibility with project types and responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences
- Ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative
- Ability to manage your schedule
- Valid G-class driver's licence
