POSITION: Accountant We are currently looking for a team player to join our Finance and Accounting department. We are seeking a dynamic individual who enjoys taking on challenges and handling a variety of responsibilities.
Position Summary Reporting to the Financial Controller,
you will contribute to the reliability of financial operations while supporting the accuracy of periodic financial closings. You will work closely with the team to optimize work methods, strengthen internal controls, and support financial compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Administer payments, monitor corporate credit cards, manage accounts receivable, process deductions, and assess customer credit limits.
Participate in month-end activities, including the preparation of journal entries (accruals, provisions, amortization, etc.), account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, income statement analysis, and financial reporting.
Manage the full accounting cycle for a multi-currency portfolio.
Perform variance analyses and provide recommendations to management.
Ensure tax compliance, including government remittances (GST/QST, accommodation taxes), installment payments, and related requirements.
Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller to improve processes, tools, and internal controls.
Recommend and implement improvements to financial processes to increase operational efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Accounting; CPA designation required.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience covering the full accounting cycle.
Excellent French and English communication skills, both written and spoken, as the role requires regular interaction with colleagues outside Quebec.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
Experience with Infor M3 Cloud is considered a significant asset, or experience with a comparable ERP system.
