Job Code: 27031 Status : Part Time Location : Providence Care Hospital Union : OPSEU 4104 Service Clerical Wage : $29.31 - $30.23/hr Posting Period : September 10, 2026 - September 19, 2026 Reporting to the assigned department Manager, the Cook assists in meal preparation for delivery of meal, cafeteria, and catering food services and performs inventory control functions of the department. The Cook is responsible for preparing food items and managing related food inventories based on rotational meal cycle and quantity, portion control and recipe standards. The Cook performs their duties in accordance with organizational and department policies and procedures, standards set out by the Public Health Act, the Canadian Restaurant and Food Service Association’s Sanitation Code of Practice and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) food safety protocols and WHIMIS and Occupational Health and Safety standards. Education and Experience:

Valid Inter-Provincial Red Seal Cook's Certificate, and/or a Journeyman Chef’s Certificate; an equivalent combination of recognized related training and work experience in a similar role in an institutional food service workplace may be considered Valid Certificate in Food Safety Code of Practice with the Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association (CRFA) Minimum two years recent experience working as a cook, preferably in a hospital setting Previous institutional experience is an asset Valid Ontario G Class driver’s license and clear driver’s abstract Role Responsibilities

Prepares food items for client, cafeteria and catering orders, utilizing menu rotation, monthly schedules, production sheets,



and recipe standards Participate in quality procedures and work to achieve acceptable standards of food and nutrition services and sanitization Participate as an active member in departmental staff meetings and where elected, Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings Participate in educational department and corporate training and development opportunities in order to enhance skills and knowledge Loads and organizes prepared food and supplies into fleet vehicles for delivery to other Providence Care locations Why Work at Providence Care Hospital:
