Works Technician 1 (Design) - Construction Mgmt

Reporting to the Project Supervisor,

The incumbent will:
- Manage, co-ordinate and develop construction drawing and technical database systems
- Provide technical, procedural and scheduling support, co-ordinate and provide guidance to Construction Management Services staff, other Divisions and Departments, consultants and Area Municipalities
- Analyze and interpret technical data with respect to construction completion information and records- Compiling and calculating 'as constructed' information
- Updating engineering drawings with the 'as constructed' information using computer-aided methods
- Complete miscellaneous AutoCAD drafting assignments as required for standard management and contract groups- Develop, review and advise on Works department standards,



procedures and specifications with regards to construction record management and reproduction services such as scanning and printing of electronic files and construction drawings - Respond to enquiries for construction records, drawings and data regarding Regional Infrastructure, Facilities and future services
- Supervise and control budgetary and financial aspects of the Construction Records group
- Require the ability to get to certain as-built sites

The successful applicant will possess:

- A two-year post-secondary Civil Engineering Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Registration or eligible for registration as a Technician with O.A.C.E.T.T.
- Several years of work related experience
- Knowledge and understanding of Regional Design and Construction Specifications and Regional Drawing Standards,
- Construction surveying principles and Survey services, and Municipal Design Guideline
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Access) and AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication, effective customer service, problem solving, analytical, leadership and organizational skills
- The ability to work with diverse teams

CUPE 1764 Salary Grade 5

This position is with Salary Grade 5 and will be paid at the following hourly rates:

- Start: $41.44 - Six Month: $43.74 - Job: $46.04
