Support Black students’ achievements as an Itinerant Graduation Coach with Simcoe County District School Board. This full time role focuses on building community partnerships and providing specialized guidance for academic success.
In this temporary position, you will engage with Black students across Simcoe County, offering targeted support to improve their graduation outcomes. You will work collaboratively with faculty, families, and community agencies to address barriers while implementing strategies that promote students’ well-being. The successful candidate will leverage lived experiences and understanding of systemic challenges faced by Black youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with educators to identify and lift systemic barriers • Track student progress and inform coaching practices • Promote awareness of services for Black students within schools • Develop community partnerships for enhanced support • Foster a nurturing environment for Black students’ growth
Requirements: • Post-secondary degree in Humanities, Social Service or similar • Five years’ experience supporting Black youth • Advanced understanding of systemic barriers to education • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Valid driver’s license and transportation for travel
