Join an Established Clinic With Patients Already Waiting HMCC has an established referral network and a significant patient backlog extending into late summer. The successful physician can begin seeing patients immediately, without having to build a referral base or develop a practice from the ground up.

This opportunity is well suited to an anesthesiologist, physiatrist, neurologist, pain medicine physician, or another appropriately qualified physician who would like to complement an existing hospital, academic, or community practice.

HMCC has an established referral network, strong patient demand, and a backlog of patients requiring consultation and treatment. The successful physician can begin with one flexible clinic day per week and expand their schedule over time if mutually beneficial.

Why Consider HMCC?

Begin with one day per week, with flexibility to increase

Established referral network and immediate patient demand

No hospital call or traditional patient-panel responsibility

Administrative support for referrals, scheduling, billing, and patient communication

Accuro EMR and established clinical workflows

Community-based outpatient setting in Durham Region

Chance to develop a focused headache and pain practice

Collaborative environment centred on accessible, non-narcotic care

Clinical Focus Depending on the physician’s existing training, recognized scope of practice,

and applicable approvals, the role may include:

Chronic pain and headache consultations

Assessment and treatment of chronic migraine

Botox for chronic migraine

Follow-up care and treatment planning

Collaboration with referring physicians and the HMCC clinical team

Candidate Profile We would like to connect with physicians who have postgraduate training or established experience in one or more of the following areas:

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Neurology or headache medicine

Chronic pain or interventional pain medicine

Family medicine with an established and CPSO-recognized pain or procedural scope

Another relevant specialty with appropriate headache or pain-management experience

Candidates must hold, or be eligible to obtain, registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and appropriate CMPA coverage.

Physicians trained elsewhere in Canada or the United States may be considered if they are eligible for Ontario licensure. Candidates requiring supervision may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Compensation This is a fee-for-service opportunity with a competitive physician-clinic billing split. The final structure will be discussed transparently and confirmed based on the physician’s clinical scope, services, availability, and experience.
