Major Accountabilities/Responsibilities ( Including but not limited to the following): Assist with preparing for lessons by getting materials ready or setting up equipment Copy instructional materials, assignments, exams, etc. Ensure that the classroom setting is positive and pleasant, without the distraction of disorder and mess (e.g. cleanliness of room, lighting appropriate, etc.) Support individual students during class time to ensure understanding of key concepts and course requirements (e.g. assignments)



Observe students’ developmental issues and communicate findings to lead instructors Participate as a supervisor for field trips and events outside of the classroom Provide tutoring services to students in areas of expertise Distribute teaching materials to students during class time such as textbooks, workbooks and papers Distribute tests and homework assignments, and collect them when they are completed Mark tests and assignments as directed by the Lead Instructor Enforce administration policies and rules governing students Reinforce lessons presented by Instructors by reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups Assist with laundry duties (washing/drying) to ensure linen supplies available for students as required Education and Experience Registered Massage Therapist Previous teaching or Learning Assistant experience Skills and Competencies Able to work with students with different abilities and backgrounds and demonstrate patience when dealing with students who struggle with material Familiar with classroom routines Able to manage difficult behaviors Composure, tact and maturity in dealing with conflict Personal Characteristics Display a professional appearance and demeanor at all times Approachable, positive, respectful and courteous Able to build strong relationships Reliable and dependable Able to use initiative Critical thinker and problem solver Support MaKami’s vision of providing a positive learning environment for all students, and culture of supporting and valuing each other as a member of the MaKami ‘family’ Perform all assigned duties and responsibilities with confidence and to the best of your abilities Continually seek the most effective ways to streamline daily activities, reduce costs or improve quality of products and services Respectful of others, proactively communicating with a high degree of transparency, respect and professionalism Work collaboratively with others through the sharing of ideas and knowledge Health Spending & Lifestyle Accounts Educational Allowance for Professional Development Emergency Allowance for Unexpected Needs Free Massages at Our Student Clinic Discounts on College Programs & Courses Staff Discount in College Store Free Parking
