Ensure the safety of children at street crossings with the City of Woodstock as an On Call Crossing Guard. This role requires commitment, vigilance, and interaction with young pedestrians every shift.
Reporting to the Crossing Guard Supervisor, this permanent part time position takes place in Woodstock, focusing on ensuring children's safety during school hours. Key skills include experience working with children, positive public interaction, and basic computer proficiency. You will be asked to wear a reflective vest, manage a Stop Sign, and assist children with street crossings safely.
Key Responsibilities:
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts at designated crossings
• Escort children safely across the street
• Report non-compliant vehicles and children to the Supervisor
• Wear reflective vest and hold Stop Sign during crossings
• Attend scheduled workshops for crossing guards
Requirements:
• Experience working with children
• Professional interaction skills with the public
• Basic computer skills
• Access to a vehicle for commuting
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
