Every year CHEO helps more than 500,000 children and youth from Eastern Ontario, western Quebec, Nunavut and Northern Ontario. Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care for Program Patients and families.



Develop programming and activities for the inpatient unit and day treatment programs.

Offer support /counselling to individual patients and their families. Graduate of a three-year community college program in Child and Youth Counselling (Essential) Experience in paediatric psychiatry (Essential) Eligible for certified membership in the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors (OACYC) (Essential) Certification in CPR and First Aid (Essential) Knowledge of mental health treatment modalities (Essential) Vulnerable Sector Check (Level 3) (Essential) Bilingualism (French/English) (Preferred) Please note you will be represented by the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU). Pre-screening might include testing.

This process may include more varied and multidimensional testing such as a written test, practical exam, or other assessment. All candidates who meet the essential and preferred qualifications may be tested. Bilingualism (French/English) will be validated by a language proficiency assessment conducted by a third party provider.
