Co-op Winter 2027 – Systems Test Engineering - 4-8 Months ~ Intern At General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada, we’re not just engineering technology — we’re shaping the future of defence and security. As part of your application, you must upload proof of enrolment and your most recent academic transcript As a Sonar Systems team member, you will assist in carrying out activities such as requirements analysis, software test design, and performing software/systems testing on Sonar and Sonobuoy Processors.
Perform systems and software test activities, and execute verification tests as directed by the Test Lead to ensure design requirements are met
- Working under guidance from a senior engineer, develop and perform test cases to validate specific requirements
- Assist in analyzing requirements allocated to the Acoustic Processing System
- Assist in developing technical documentation
- Operate and maintain test simulators and equipment. Enrolled as a student in a Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other applicable scientific discipline at a recognized university program. Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills. Some project based experience with particular emphasis in the testing role would be an asset Working knowledge of formal software lifecycle;
Experience with Unix-like operating systems
- Knowledge of DOORS or other requirement management tool would be an asset
- Practical knowledge of Matlab would be an asset. Knowledge and experience with Git or other software configuration management Knowledge and experience with RTC, JIRA, or other bug/issue tracking tool would be an asset
- Development in CIC++ or Python would be an asset It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. The expected hourly rate for this position is $24.92 - $33.23. Final compensation will be determined based on your relevant work experience to date.
