BEL Contracting is looking for Skilled Civil Construction Laborers to join our team. BEL Contracting has excelled in civil contracting across Western Canada, focusing on underground utility and road construction. Our expertise spans transportation and infrastructure projects for provincial, municipal, and private clients, ensuring quality through safety, efficiency, and budget adherence.
We offer tailored construction solutions, including planning, grading, excavating, culvert and utility installations. It is extremely beneficial to have your own transportation, as our job sites are not always on bus routes and in areas of development. Perform general labor duties on civil construction sites including digging, grading, raking, and shoveling Assist with installation of underground utilities (water, sewer, storm) Support pipe crews with alignment, bedding, and backfilling Load, unload, and move construction materials and equipment Assist with traffic control and site safety setup as required Participate in daily toolbox talks and adhere to all company safety policies Previous experience in civil construction or general labor (preferred but not required) Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (asset) Basic understanding of construction safety practices Certifications (Assets) CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) First Aid (Level 1 or higher)
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions Early start times, overtime, and weekend work may be required Travel to different project sites will necessary, so your own vehicle for transportation is an asset.
Competitive wages based on experience Training and development opportunities This position will earn Union wages and will have access to extended Union healthcare and benefits, a Union-sponsored pension plan, and additional training through the Training Plan.
Expected hourly rate: Unionized wage range for this position is $35.27 per hour (based on candidate’s experience), plus 12% vacation/statutory holiday pay.
