As a BI & Financial Report Developer with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) Partnering with Minnesota Department of Transportation (DOT), you will provide financial reporting and financial application user support for the agency.

You will be responsible for developing, modifying, testing, maintaining, and publishing reports and dashboards using financial data. In addition, you will produce ad hoc data extracts for users across MnDOT and respond to financial data inquiries from staff within the department. Telework Eligibility Depends On Residence

Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%. Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%. Candidates living 50 miles or more from the worksite in a bordering state may work onsite 100% or may be telework eligible if relocating within 50 miles.

This position requires a minimum of one (1)



year of IT related experience in developing, maintaining, or supporting reports and/or dashboards using business intelligence, reporting, database, or related technologies. Designing, developing, and supporting reports and dashboards using financial data. Using reporting and data technologies such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, SQL, and/or comparable tools.

Testing, validating, and reconciling data to ensure the accuracy of reports and dashboards. Customer-focused approach is grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.

Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; Working knowledge of the department, division and office policies and procedures.

Background working with financial systems, data, and business logic. Ability to effectively serve as a technical liaison between business, IT, and third-party vendors/contractors. Ability to communicate highly technical issues to a non-technical audience.
