The Rainy

River mine, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. Shift 7/7 Schedule - 12 Hour Days/Nights - Camp & Travel Provided Position Overview: The Driller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of down-the-hole (DTH) hammer drills within an open-pit mining environment. Working with a fleet that includes DK75 and 650i drills, this role supports production activities by completing drilling work safely, accurately, and in accordance with operational requirements.

The successful candidate will bring relevant drilling experience, strong equipment awareness, and a consistent commitment to safe work practices. Review drilling instructions, parameters, and work procedures to ensure they are understood and applied correctly. Monitor drilling progress and adjust drilling parameters within established limits to support safe and efficient performance.

Receive a detailed handover from the previous shift and confirm the status of drilling activities and equipment before beginning work. Inspect, prepare, and set up the equipment required for the assigned shift.



Safely operate drilling equipment and complete drilling activities and complex equipment manoeuvres as required. 3+ years of experience in drilling or operating heavy equipment in an open-pit mining environment ~ Ability to read and follow drill plans, drilling parameters, and operating procedures. ~ Robust mechanical aptitude, including the ability to identify and report equipment concerns. ~ Ability to work extended shifts, including days and nights, in varying outdoor conditions. ~ Heavy Equipment Operator training is considered an asset. ~ First Aid, Mine Rescue, and applicable mining certifications are considered assets. ~ Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is considered an asset.
