As a BI & Financial Report Developer with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) Partnering with Minnesota Department of Transportation (DOT), you will provide financial reporting and financial application user support for the agency. You will be responsible for developing, modifying, testing, maintaining, and publishing reports and dashboards using financial data. Ensuring that all financial reports are designed and delivered in an accurate, efficient, and user-focused manner so internal and external stakeholders can access the financial information they need. In addition, you will produce ad hoc data extracts for users across MnDOT and respond to financial data inquiries from staff within the department.
This Position Requires An Employee To Work Onsite At 395 John Ireland Blvd, St. Paul, Minnesota At Least 50% [or More Or Less If Space Limitations Remain] Of The Time, With Limited Telework Available. Telework Eligibility Depends On Residence
Candidates living in Minnesota or within 50 miles of the worksite in a bordering state (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) may telework up to 50%.
Minnesota residents living more than 50 miles from the worksite may be eligible to telework more than 50%.

This position requires a minimum of one (1) year of IT related experience in developing, maintaining, or supporting reports and/or dashboards using business intelligence, reporting, database, or related technologies.
Experience Must Include
Designing, developing,
and supporting reports and dashboards using financial data.
Using reporting and data technologies such as Crystal Reports, Power BI, SQL, and/or comparable tools.
Testing, validating, and reconciling data to ensure the accuracy of reports and dashboards.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a manner that facilitates mutual understanding.
Customer-focused approach is grounded in active listening, empathy, and solution-oriented problem-solving to deliver positive user experiences.
Education in Information Technology (IT) or an IT related field may substitute for experience as follows: a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree for one (1) year; and an associate’s degree for six (6) months.
Strongly Preferred Qualifications
Experience validating and reconciling complex datasets to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
Working knowledge of the department, division and office policies and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to write sufficiently to explain what information a report has provided, how it was selected and summarized.
Background working with financial systems, data, and business logic.
Ability to effectively serve as a technical liaison between business, IT, and third-party vendors/contractors.
Ability to provide clear objectives and support documentation.
Knowledge of MNIT’s services, standards, and processes.
Ability to communicate highly technical issues to a non-technical audience.
