Our client is a well-established custom cabinetry manufacturer with over 40 years of experience serving residential builders, retail customers, and multi-residential developments across Ontario. Known for its craftsmanship and commitment to quality, the company designs and manufactures premium custom cabinetry while continuing to invest in operational excellence and long-term growth. As the organization expands, they are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to lead the HR function.
Reporting directly to the President, this role is responsible for overseeing recruitment, employee engagement and retention, payroll administration, health and safety compliance, and HR operations. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding.
Employee
Relations & Engagement Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on performance management, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution. Support performance reviews and employee development initiatives. Process payroll accurately and maintain payroll records. Resolve payroll discrepancies and coordinate payroll reporting with finance. Manage workplace incident investigations, WSIB claims, and corrective actions.
Coordinate Joint
Health & Safety Committee meetings,
workplace inspections, and safety training. HR Operations & Compliance Maintain HR systems, employee records, and reporting processes. Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook.
Manage employee relations matters, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with employment legislation. Prepare HR metrics and reports for senior leadership. Support general administrative and office operations as required.
Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR experience. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, workplace health and safety regulations, and HR best practices.
