KiHS delivers quality secondary programming to First Nations students on reserve by blending face-to-face mentoring with cutting edge online asynchronous instruction. The successful candidate will oversee the program, including the online learning workplace and the face-to-face classrooms in 15 communities. Knowledge of best practices in online education Master’s Degree, or equivalent Principal Qualifications Part 1 and 2, is considered an asset Experience working with First Nation communities and schools Experience working in school administration Several years of experience teaching in the online environment, and experience in administration in an online environment, is considered an asset Familiarity with Ministry of Education documents (e.g., Knowledge of learning management systems, preferable Moodle,



is considered an asset Train and support new staff members, including the use of our online learning management system and online training program Monitor online course quality to meet Ministry of Education standards (e.g., reviewing course outlines, expectation charts, online lessons) Prepare materials for school inspection Travel to communities and meetings regularly, sometimes with short notice Help plan and execute the school improvement plan Collaborate and communicate with teachers, Education Director, KOBE Board members, students and communities Maintain partnerships with communities and promote new partnerships, including credit-for-purchase agreements
