Laboratory Technician - Fort McMurray - Contract ~ Contract We are recognized as the global benchmark for quality and integrity. SGS is looking for a Laboratory Technician for a 6 month contract with a possibility of extension for long term employment. Site Position - Bussing provided from Fort McMurray, AB and local area.

Schedule: 7 on x 7 off (12 hour shifts with day and night shift - from 7 AM to 7 PM or 7 PM to 7 AM). Perform and monitor testing and inspection activities of the SGS Industrial laboratory. The job holder plays a critical role in carrying out core business activities while working at Company's operations and/ or Client's project sites, with high degree of precision and strict compliance to Health & Safety and Company's Code of integrity and professionalism.

Assist with in-house training, state-of-art instrument commissioning, ensuring proper operation and maintenance of instruments, accessories, methods, data etc., Good housekeeping and equipment maintenance skills maintaining lab integrity. Maintains all lab protocol, follows procedures with accuracy of data. Maintenance of inventory of general lab supplies.

Conducts routine testing. Compiles data,



analyzes and input results Follow all Quality system protocols and report any discrepancies to the Group Lead. Follow all company HSE policies. May be assigned to special projects and or site work for indeterminate length of time.

May be assigned special or ad hoc projects. Diploma or certificate in a science related field One year of related experience or completion of University or College in a related field Background in science and chemistry is desirable.

Experience in analytical laboratory is a strong asset. Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel. Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

Extended hours and shift work may be required from time to time.
