Position: Orthopaedics Billing Clerk, Saskatoon – Provincial Services

Duties And Responsibilities The Orthopaedics Billing Clerk is responsible for all aspects of Orthopaedics program invoicing, including pricing client files, generating invoices, obtaining funding approvals, monitoring work-in-progress files, and serving as the primary liaison with funding agencies. The position supports the financial stability of the program by ensuring accurate and consistent revenue generation for Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Specialized Seating services.
Duties Include
- Generate accurate and timely invoices for Prosthetics, Orthotics, and Specialized Seating services in accordance with
funding agreements and SaskAbilities invoicing formulas.
- Review client files and supporting documentation to ensure they are complete and ready for invoicing.
- Obtain prior and post-service funding approvals and submit documentation required by third-party funding agencies.
- Monitor active work-in-progress files with clinicians and support the timely billing of services.
- Maintain the secure electronic invoicing portal for the primary funder and resolve rejected or returned billing notices.
- Post client deposits and payments, prepare monthly invoice reports, and assist with work-in-progress valuation,
statistical reporting, projections, and budget preparation.
Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12 education.
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in accounting or office administration.
- Coursework in medical terminology is considered an asset.
Skills And Experience
- A minimum of 12 months of related experience in a busy office environment, including customer service and managing
competing priorities.
- Experience with basic accounting, pricing, invoicing, filing, typing, and office procedures.
- Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, organizational, and multitasking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy while working with complex procedures, fixed deadlines,
frequent interruptions, and confidential information.
- Proficient keyboarding and computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word; knowledge of Microsoft GP
and OPIE is preferred. Final candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks.
Compensation: Pay class 14 (range of $26.21 to $32.44 per hour) plus benefit package
