Position Description The Senior OSS Technical Architect is an experienced OSS solution architect and functional SME supporting a major OSS transformation program within a multi-vendor telecommunications setting. Acting as the functional bridge between our operational teams and the implementation partner delivering the OSS platform, this architect translates High Level Designs (HLDs) and operational needs into the detailed designs, requirements, and user stories that drive successful delivery of OSS capabilities.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture &
- Design
- Act as the functional bridge between operational teams and the OSS implementation partner.
- Translate HLDs and operational needs into detailed requirements documents, Low Level Designs
(LLDs), Interface Design Documents (IDDs), workflow diagrams, and data models.
- Develop functional specifications and user stories that guide implementation and delivery.
- Ensure OSS designs align with multi vendor architecture standards and operational requirements.
OSS Process &
- Domain Enablement
Provide domain expertise across the core OSS process areas:
- Inventory: discovery, reconciliation, zero touch provisioning (ZTP), and templates.
- Fault / Incident Management: alarm ingestion, mapping, correlation, and root cause analysis (RCA).
- Performance Management: KPI calculation for Fiber and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), trend analysis,
and anomaly detection.
- Configuration Management: templates, golden configuration, and version control.
Support EMS/NMS integration across a multi vendor estate, guiding the management of devices from vendors such as Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia, and Cisco delivering residential FTTH and FWA services. Transformation &
- Delivery
- Lead and support legacy OSS transformation initiatives, breaking transformation work into iterative,
incrementally deliverable outcomes.
- Facilitate workshops and manage stakeholders across operational and delivery teams.
- Produce clear, high quality documentation supporting design, requirements, and delivery.
Cross Functional Collaboration &
- Ways of Working
- Work directly with operational teams including Network Engineering, NOC, SRE, and Field Operations.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
- 10+ years of telecommunications OSS experience, including solution architecture or functional SME
roles.
- Deep process knowledge across the core OSS domains described above: inventory, fault/incident
management, performance management, and configuration management.
- Hands on experience with EMS/NMS integration in a multi-vendor environment (e.g., Ericsson,
Huawei, Nokia, Cisco) supporting residential FTTH and FWA.
- Proven experience developing HLDs, LLDs, IDDs, functional specifications, and requirements
documents.
- Experience delivering legacy OSS transformations.
- Experience working directly with operational teams such as Network Engineering, NOC, SRE, and Field
Operations.
- Strong workshop facilitation, stakeholder management, and written documentation skills.
- Solid experience working within Agile delivery models.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with TM Forum Open APIs and information models.
- TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification.
- Experience with more than one commercial OSS platform.
- Exposure to 5G / FWA network technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, or data pipelines in an OSS context.
- Experience applying AI/ML to network operations use cases (e.g., anomaly detection, alarm noise
reduction).
Success Measures
- High quality, implementable OSS designs that accurately reflect operational needs.
- Successful translation of HLDs into detailed, delivery ready LLDs, IDDs, and requirements.
- Effective collaboration between operational teams and the implementation partner.
