Salary Information: 10 - BCGEU Pay Grid - $31.16 to $34.78 per hour Employment Type: Temporary Part Time Workplace Type: In office Travel Frequency: Occasional travel between campuses is required.
Employee Group: Support Staff (BC General Employees Union) We are currently seeking a Recreation Programs Assistant to join our Sport & Recreation team. Supervises sport, recreation and intramural programs and events that promote an active and healthy campus, in addition to providing supervision of facilities and administrative assistance in support of the Sport & Recreation department.
Education And Experience University diploma in Recreation or relevant discipline. A minimum of one year of recent related recreation programming experience. De-escalation Training is an asset. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience with recreation or sport event programming,
organizing and implementing activities, preferably with adults or young adults. Administrative experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and recreation management software. work independently, establish own priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and provide customer service to, all internal and external partners.
Demonstrated experience with mediation; Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service and problem-solving skills. Ability to travel between campuses is required. As per the KPU-BCGEU Collective Agreement, qualified internal applicants within the BCGEU bargaining unit are given first consideration in filling this position.
