You are an experienced Foreperson or General Foreperson for Powerline Construction who supports the construction and installation of overhead transmission and distribution lines. You will support the construction of lattice towers, steel and wood h-frames, single wood poles, and stringing various conductor sizes. You enjoy working at heights, operating specialized equipment, and ensuring that electrical and communication systems are installed safely and to industry standards.
Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment including bucket trucks, backhoes, digger derrick trucks, all-terrain track machines, pullers, tensioners, etc. Track daily production, material usage, and support logistics and crew coordination. Perform additional tasks related to line construction and maintenance as required.
Previous experience leading a crew of PLTs. ~5+ years of experience as journeyman PLT. ~ Ability to climb poles using spikes and rigging and to work from bucket trucks or man-lifts. ~ Class 5 driver’s license required: Class 1 or 3 preferred. ~ Physically able to work at heights, lift heavy materials, and work in varying weather conditions. ~ Overtime rates apply after 8 hours worked per day and 40 hours per week. ~ Travel allowance provided to those that are eligible. ~ Ledcor builds and maintains infrastructure in various industries including oil and gas, transportation, and mining.
