HDR is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to join our Transportation Construction Services group to work on the Ontario Line Project. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be helping to successfully deliver to completion of two segmental bridges for the Don Valley Crossing project as part of Ontario Line.
HDR is the Technical Advisor for the Ontario Line Program responsible to help deliver one of the largest ever urban transit light-rail infrastructure projects in Toronto. The position will be responsible for coordinating an onsite team of technical professionals and inspectors to oversee the implementation of construction observations and maintaining daily logs and project communication.
Take responsibility for a wide variety of specialized project-related administrative and accounting functions Work independently to effectively manage complex project-and executive-level paper and electronic files, documents and records Coordinate and monitor onsite inspection duties and tasks to ensure they are completed and that the inspector’s diaries are kept accurate and up to date.
Attend site walks and construction activities as required to support field observations, verify the status of outstanding items, and assist with photographic and written documentation. Promote and oversee implementation of health and safety policies and procedures. Review contractor activities are in accordance with the contract documents and requirements.
Liaise with the contractor and client representatives. Organize and coordinate project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and assist with presentations Help maintain an organized and traceable record of communications, field observations, design responses, contractor submissions, and decisions relevant to the work Track field observations, deficiencies, potential non-conformances, RFIs, NCRs, design clarifications, and other construction-related action items through resolution or formal closeout. Assist with preparing materials for progress meetings, quality meetings, technical coordination meetings, and issue-specific discussions.
Support the Project Manager and Construction Manager with workload planning, resource coordination, schedule monitoring, and administrative activities. Prepare, maintain, and regularly update the project conformed drawing set, incorporating approved revisions, design changes, RFIs, field changes,
and issued documents to ensure the field team is working from the latest available information. Apply company quality assurance guidelines and procedures, and independently monitor for quality assurance Manage project documents and files Track and monitor project budgets, workloads and schedules as necessary Exercise good judgement and discretion, and independently resolve problems and issues relating to administrative project functions At times may require working nights, weekends, and extended shifts. 5+ years of experience with construction project coordination of large civil and transit infrastructure projects ~ Requires high school diploma or equivalent. (Candidates with 8 years of relevant construction inspection experience may substitute experience for a high school diploma) Proficient with MS Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) This shapes our team-oriented culture, encourages organizational trust and connects us closer to the clients and communities we serve.
