Accurate, cost effective, and timely completion of construction layout and data collection surveys in accordance with company and client quality standards.
Directing and supervising survey assistants, including provision of technical guidance, safety leadership, and mentorship. Effective communication with our company project manager, contractors, and clients. Processing and reviewing field survey data for completeness and accuracy, and effectively organizing large survey data sets on a given project.
Understanding roadway construction drawings and extracting digital design information for construction layout. Understanding methods of measurement and payment for construction bid items, preparation of digital surface models,
and quantity calculations. Knowledge of standard construction specifications (Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors) Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Geomatics/Surveying, or several years of equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum 10 years of related experience on roadway construction projects in Canada, although applicants with directly relevant experience less than 10 years will be considered. Availability to travel for work on project sites throughout Western Canada.
Experience utilizing GPS, scanning, bathymetric and total station survey equipment; familiarity with Trimble Survey Controllers would be considered an asset.
Experience with survey software; familiarity with Trimble Business Center and/or Civil 3D software would be considered an asset.
Experience with Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors survey requirements an asset. Must be well organized and have the ability to manage and prioritize several tasks at one time to ensure a commitment to project delivery and technical excellence. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
