Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Virtualization Engineer with expertise in embedded systems. This role focuses on enhancing software-defined vehicle technologies by converting ECU firmware into productive virtual settings.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with peers to develop and refine virtualization layers that enable quick prototyping and integration of automotive subsystems. Your skills will directly influence our capacity to bring innovative features to market rapidly, ensuring we remain positioned at the forefront of the electric vehicle sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain the production runtime for firmware on host machines
Connect new firmware to relevant modeled libraries for functionality
Create functional device models alongside hardware engineers
Oversee build tools and configurations for efficiency
Update HIL Pytest suites for injected faults and traffic validations
Requirements:
10+ years in embedded firmware development
Proficient in C, C++, and Python
Robust grasp of RTOS and POSIX principles
Experienced with automotive communication networks
Ownership of Bazel or similar build systems
