Role Description: The Senior Accountant will perform full-cycle accounting activities, including preparing journal entries, maintaining general ledgers, and reconciling accounts. This full-time, on-site role in Calgary, AB involves preparing financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and tax regulations.

The Senior

Accountant will review work prepared by junior staff, provide guidance, and assist in training to ensure quality and accuracy. Day-to-day responsibilities also include collaborating with internal teams and clients, responding to inquiries, identifying process improvements,



and supporting audits and other assurance engagements as needed.

Qualifications

- Proficiency with accounting software such as CaseWare, Profile, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze data and prepare detailed financial schedules.
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (ASPE) and tax regulations, with experience supporting audits or assurance engagements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and review the work of junior team members, fostering a collaborative and respectful work culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or working toward CPA is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 year of prior experience in public practice is required.
- Experienced in preparing and reviewing Compilation and Review Engagements, along with T2 Return preparation.
