MaintainX is a leading mobile-first work execution platform for industrial and frontline teams. More than 13,000 customers , including Duracell, McDonald's, Shell, DHL and Volvo, use MaintainX to cut unplanned downtime and run better operations, across 13.9 million managed assets and 79.5 million completed work orders. Autodesk's strategy is to converge design, make and operate into one continuous lifecycle: design an asset, build it, run it, then feed what you learn running it back into the next design.
We're looking for multiple Software Development Managers to lead one of our engineering teams. Whichever team you land on, you're the person who turns a roadmap into shipped, reliable software: you'll manage 5 to 6 developers, own delivery and quality for your team's area, and make the calls that keep a group of builders moving without losing the craft. This is a single hiring pipeline across our product and platform teams.
On the product side, that could mean teams like Asset Lifecycle or Reporting, the systems behind work orders, assets, and scheduling that customers touch daily. Manage a team of 5 to 6 developers: own their delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities.
Coach and grow your developers: help them build skills, navigate hard problems, and plan their next career step. Champion CI/CD, code quality, and observability practices across your team's systems.
Give senior leadership visibility into your team's impact, progress, and risk.
We don't have a minimum in-office mandate, but we prefer our teams to be located around our office hubs. We place you based on your background, what comes up in your interviews (technical screen plus a team-fit conversation), and where the openings are at the time. 4+ years of software development management experience, with a track record of leading teams that ship. ~ A robust technical foundation: system design, computer science fundamentals, modern web technologies. ~ Experience with technical design, problem-solving, and project management (Jira experience preferred). ~ A genuine interest in hiring, coaching, and developing engineers, not just directing them. ~ Excellent communication: you can carry a tradeoff conversation with an engineer and a non-technical stakeholder equally well. Factories, fleets, hospitals and campuses stay up because the people who maintain them have tools worth using.
Depending on the role, compensation may also include commission, an annual bonus and equity. For roles in Canada and other countries, the plan differs on health coverage, retirement and leave, and your recruiter will walk you through it.
