Join the AI innovation cell of the GMA Business Unit to experiment with, evaluate and industrialize models serving concrete generative AI and LLM use cases. This internship combines applied research, rigorous model evaluation and the setup of MLOps pipelines, in an environment where data and measurement drive decisions.

Start Date: January 2027 Application Deadline: September 28th, 2026 CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $18-32/hour. This role is an existing vacancy.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Model experimentation and evaluation

- Take part in fine-tuning and evaluating language models (LLMs) for specific use cases: AiOps, developer copilots, internal chatbots.
- Design and run evaluation protocols — benchmarks, quality metrics, test sets — to compare models, prompts and approaches (including RAG).
- Analyze and prepare internal data (cleaning, structuring, feature engineering) for training and to feed RAG solutions.

MLOps and industrialization
- Contribute to implementing MLOps pipelines, notably via the Dataiku platform.
- Take part in monitoring model performance in context (monitoring,



drift detection, retraining loops).

Documentation and AI offering creation
- Document the work carried out (methodologies, evaluation protocols, results).
- Contribute to qualifying and prioritizing use cases, with a responsible-AI and measurable-ROI mindset.
- Create presentations of the AI accelerators developed to showcase the offering.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

- Student in a master’s, engineering school or equivalent program with a specialization in AI, data science, statistics or computer science.
- Strong command of Python and of data science / NLP libraries (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face).
- Interest in LLMs, fine-tuning, model evaluation, MLOps and deployment challenges.
- Familiarity with an MLOps platform (Dataiku, an asset).
- Ability to document work cleanly and to explain technical topics in accessible terms.
- Initiative, autonomy and analytical rigor.

Bilingualism (French and English) is required for this position due to the nature of the role, which involves interactions with both national and international clients. Why join us?
