Senior Equipment Technician Life Sciences Manufacturing Location: Toronto, Ontario Type: Direct Hire Pay: $27$29/hr. CAD, based on experience Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite Benefits: Comprehensive Benefits Package + Annual Performance-Based Bonus Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Equipment Technician Life Sciences Manufacturing to support manufacturing and laboratory equipment within a regulated life sciences environment.

This is a hands-on technical position focused on preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, calibration, qualification, repair, and equipment reliability.

The Senior Equipment Technician will independently manage preventive maintenance activities, equipment work orders, routine inspections, repairs, and equipment documentation while helping minimize manufacturing downtime.

This position will also work closely with Manufacturing and Process Engineering to troubleshoot equipment problems, develop preventive maintenance strategies, identify root causes of equipment failures, and implement equipment upgrades and improvements.

Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, verification, and repair of manufacturing and laboratory equipment Diagnose equipment problems and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize production downtime Support equipment including jigs, pipettes, centrifuges, water purification systems, refrigerators, analyzers, and other production equipment Perform internal equipment calibration and IQ/OQ/PQ qualification activities Troubleshoot moderately complex in-house analyzers and equipment Coordinate equipment testing, calibration, and repairs with external laboratories, contractors, and service providers when necessary Maintain appropriate inventory levels of spare equipment parts and consumables Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on facility equipment including HVAC systems, air-filtration units, generators, and related equipment Perform root-cause analysis of equipment failures and implement corrective actions Maintain accurate preventive maintenance, calibration, repair, inspection, and equipment records Partner with Manufacturing and Process Engineers to develop preventive maintenance strategies and protocols Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades, reliability improvements,



and continuous improvement Set up and maintain equipment databases and/or life sciences asset-management systems Develop and track equipment-related KPIs and performance metrics Provide technical support and lead employee training on new and existing equipment Support internal and external audits within a regulated ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 environment Ensure employees follow applicable equipment procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements Independently prioritize work orders, preventive maintenance activities, and routine equipment tasks Follow all company safety, quality, documentation, and training procedures Required Qualifications Strong experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing or laboratory equipment Solid mechanical aptitude and complex equipment troubleshooting skills Experience performing preventive maintenance and equipment repairs Working knowledge of equipment within a regulated manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and optical systems Experience maintaining accurate equipment maintenance, calibration, and repair documentation Experience setting up or maintaining equipment databases and/or asset-management systems Strong root-cause analysis and problem-solving skills Ability to use basic hand and power tools Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and related software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to independently prioritize multiple work orders and technical demands Strong verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated with the ability to identify and drive continuous improvements Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment Preferred Qualifications Previous experience supporting biotechnology equipment Experience within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, laboratory,



or other regulated manufacturing environments Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 Experience with equipment calibration and IQ/OQ/PQ Experience with life sciences equipment asset-management systems Experience troubleshooting laboratory analyzers Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Previous experience serving as an EH&S; representative or committee member Experience coordinating equipment repairs and calibration with outside contractors and service providers Education & Experience Candidates should meet one of the following combinations of education and relevant experience: High School Diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experience Technical/Associate Degree with 3+ years of relevant experience Undergraduate Degree with 1+ year of relevant experience Prior experience working with biotechnology or life sciences manufacturing equipment is strongly preferred.

Working Conditions Full-time, onsite position in Toronto, Ontario Work performed within manufacturing, production, and laboratory environments Regular interaction with manufacturing equipment, laboratory equipment, and facility systems Ability to work adaptable or extended hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as needed Work within a regulated quality and safety environment Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed Ability to use basic hand and power tools Ability to perform hands-on equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair activities Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work around manufacturing and laboratory equipment as required Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $22.40$29/hr.
