Our client, a leading manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Application Development Lead for a full time, on‑site position in Mississauga, Monday through Friday. This player coach role combines technical leadership with hands on development, providing the opportunity to lead a team while actively designing, developing, and delivering enterprise applications. The successful candidate will leverage technologies including C#/.NET Core, React, SQL Server, Azure, and modern DevOps practices while collaborating with business stakeholders, mentoring developers, and driving the delivery of innovative, high quality solutions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to balance leadership with technical execution are essential. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of full stack developers while remaining actively involved in software development. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications using C#/.NET Core, React/Next.js, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, develop wireframes, and translate business needs into technical solutions.
Lead Agile development activities, including sprint planning, daily stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Perform code reviews, establish development standards, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high quality applications. Design and optimize SQL Server databases and develop RESTful APIs and backend services.
Build and maintain integrations using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Data Factory, and related cloud technologies.
Support Azure
DevOps CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and application monitoring. Incorporate AI and machine learning capabilities, data modeling, and data visualization into business applications where appropriate. Partner with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third party providers to deliver technology solutions and ensure project success.
Contribute to disaster recovery, business continuity planning, and the ongoing improvement of development processes and application performance. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. ~10+ years of professional software development experience, including at least 3 years in a hands on technical leadership or management role. ~ Solid expertise with C#, .NET Core, React.js, Next.js, JavaScript, RESTful APIs, SQL Server, and Microsoft Azure. ~ Experience designing and optimizing SQL Server databases, including T-SQL, indexing, and performance tuning. ~ Hands on experience with Azure services such as Logic Apps, Data Factory, and Entra ID (Azure AD). ~ Experience with Git based source control and modern software development practices. ~ Knowledge of Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines. ~ Solid understanding of secure application design, architecture, and software development best practices.
~ Proven ability to lead and mentor development teams while remaining actively involved in hands on development. ~ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast paced environment.
Experience developing applications within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP and manufacturing ERP systems such as Foy Systems EPICS. Agile/Scrum experience, with PMP, Scrum Master, or similar certifications considered an asset.
