We are seeking candidates with strong communication and organizational abilities, and good interpersonal skills.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who has an unremitting desire to learn and gain new practical skills in Geology.
Note: The application deadline for this position is September 28, 2026 What youll do: Students are assigned projects that fulfill a business need and will be working under the direct supervision of a Geologist.
Tasks can include wireline log interpretation, core description and interpretation, geological mapping, and data analysis.
The responsibilities of the position will vary depending on the business unit.
Who you are: Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications: Available to begin work in May 2027 Troubleshooting knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Computer competence (MS Office) is essential,
particularly in Excel and Power
Point.
Exposure to subsurface interpretation and mapping software such as Petrel, Geographix, Accumap, or Geo
Scout is considered an asset.
Exposure to data analytics software and coding experience is not required but considered favourably (i.e Python, Matlab, R) Previous geoscience experience or exposure to oil and gas either in the office, laboratory, or in the field would be considered an asset.
Strong demeanor for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
Education: Must be enrolled in a Geoscience Undergraduate Program (i.e.
Geology, Geoscience, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering) at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term.
Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered .
New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
