Pharmacy Assistant - Shipping Support - Specialty Pharmacy - Calgary, AB - Temporary Assignment Are you an organized and detail-oriented professional with a passion for the pharmacy sector? We are seeking a Pharmacy Assistant who will support the Shipping department of a busy specialty pharmacy in Calgary.
This temporary assignment is a fantastic opportunity for a Pharmacy Assistant to gain new skills in a unique non-retail setting.
You will work in the shipping department (steel-toed shoes are required) and in the pharmacy supporting prescription filling and labelling, waybill creation and shipments (outbound and some inbound receiving).
The work you do is important to ensure patients get the medications they need - right medication to the right patient at the right time! Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (may have flexibility to do 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM); 30 min unpaid lunch break daily $20 - 21/hr for regular time hours Advantages Pharmacy Assistant - Shipping Support - Specialty Pharmacy - Calgary, AB - Temporary Assignment Competitive hourly rate of $21/hr for Pharmacy Assistant-experienced talent who have either some shipping experience or delivery driver support experience and are willing to learn (new PA Diploma graduates are welcome to apply).

Responsibilities Pharmacy Assistant - Shipping Support - Specialty Pharmacy - Calgary, AB - Temporary Assignment Responsibilities: Main focus of this role is in the shipping department - taking prepared medications and packaging them in cooler boxes or otherwise readying for shipment This person will also support the pharmacy with filling and labelling activities as part of the pharmacy team.
Perform day-to-day shipping, receiving, and packaging of pharmaceutical products and prepared scripts.
Print labels and waybills, prepare products, and process invoices for shipping.
Maintain a clean and protected shipping and receiving area.
Coordinate pickups and deliveries with couriers.
Monitor shipping materials and supplies, and manage inventory, reporting any discrepancies to the supervisor.
Adhere to all relevant guidelines and standard operating procedures.
Answer the door for patient pickups and handle verbal communication professionally.
Utilize a laptop for training and documentation purposes.
Prepare packages for shipment, including putting products in coolers, wrapping them, and staging them.
Handle inbound shipments, which occur once daily.
Qualifications Pharmacy Assistant - Shipping Support - Specialty Pharmacy - Calgary, AB - Temporary Assignment High school diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy Assistant diploma is an asset.
Our ideal candidate has at least 6-months to 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a fast-paced pharmacy (any setting)
supporting filling and labelling, billing and adjudication of scripts when needed, and has supported shipping/receiving or delivery drive support in any pharmacy setting Proven ability to work in a clean, professional, and efficient environment.
Must be able to pass a background check and provide a minimum of two references (supervisors).
Capable of physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods.
Skills Prior experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is required (min 6 months) Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude.
Ability to coordinate tasks with team members and work independently.
Positive and proactive attitude.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Capable of lifting up to 535lbs repetitively.
Proficient with Microsoft Teams for communication.
Willingness to learn and use various technologies.
