The Role We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant & Analyst for Akash Homes, based in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Opportunity At Akash Homes, accounting is more than reporting the numbers.

Its about creating financial clarity, strengthening processes, and building the systems that allow a growing organization to make informed decisions.

As Financial Accountant & Analyst, youll work closely with the Controller and CFO and take ownership of key corporate accounting processes across the Akash Group of Companies.

Youll support month end and year end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, reconciliations, financial analysis, and the continued development of strong accounting processes and internal controls.

This role also provides the opportunity to work across multiple companies, financial institutions, departments, and systems while supporting and mentoring members of the accounting team.

Top 3 Priorities for Your First 6 Months Develop a strong understanding of the Akash Homes Group of Companies.

Become familiar with the various entities operating under the Akash umbrella and develop the ability to independently analyze and record transactions, including intercompany activity, and reconcile intercompany accounts.

Develop a strong understanding of Akash Homes banking relationships and cash management processes.





Become familiar with our relationships across multiple financial institutions and develop the ability to independently analyze and record banking transactions, monitor cash levels and financial covenants, and complete weekly cash forecasting.

Build a strong understanding of Akash Homes accounting policies and procedures.

Become familiar with the accounting policies, processes, and internal controls across the Akash Homes Group of Companies and be prepared to contribute to their continued improvement and documentation.

What Youll Own Support and complete month end and year end close processes

Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules

Support budgeting, financial modelling, and forecasting activities

Complete financial analysis and reporting to support business decision making

Perform job costing, variance analysis, account reconciliations, divisional analysis, and financial reviews

Record and reconcile intercompany transactions

Monitor and reconcile intercompany accounts across the Akash Homes Group of Companies

Support cash flow management and complete weekly cash forecasting

Understand banking agreements to support lender draw requests

Monitor cash levels and financial covenant requirements

Analyze and record transactions related to Akash Homes banking relationships

Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required

Create, strengthen, and document accounting policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls

Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within accounting processes

Support accounting and ERP system improvements and integrations, including Home

Front, Sage, Share

Point, and related platforms

Collaborate with teams across the organization to improve financial processes and strengthen financial information

Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior members of the accounting team

Support audit preparation and other financial review requirements

Assist with additional accounting and finance initiatives as the organization continues to grow

Maintain financial models and forecasts including inputs

Support revenue forecast, budgets and actuals

Prepare quarterly, annual, monthly reporting results to leadership





Monitor key ratios and KPIsPrepare analytic reporting on key areas of the business What Youll Bring We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds.

What matters most is your attention to detail, accountability, and willingness to contribute to a collaborative and evolving finance team. CPA designation or active progress toward a CPA designation, combined with relevant accounting experience

Experience in a Financial Accountant & Analyst or similar accounting role

Strong understanding of month end and year end close processes

Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and reconciliations

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis

Strong understanding of intercompany accounting and reconciliations

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Experience with Sage, Home

Front, or similar accounting and ERP systems

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departmentsA proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

Ability to adapt and contribute within a fast paced, growing organization

Interest in supporting, mentoring, and developing other members of the accounting team Were less concerned about checking every box and more interested in your ability to contribute, learn, and grow with the business.

That said, the following would be considered assets: Experience within residential homebuilding, construction, or a related industry

Experience working within a group of related companies or a multi entity environment

Experience supporting audit preparation or year-end financial reporting

Experience improving or documenting accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
