The Christmas Support

Worker provides support to the Family Care Centre during the Christmas season on a temporary basis. This includes Christmas Kettles and Christmas Toy Hampers. Assist with processing, unloading, documenting, and sorting donations of toys and food for the Christmas program and assist with preparing donated items for distribution.

Assist with pick-ups of food and toy donations from community donors using program vehicle. Assist with set up and take down of toy and food Christmas hamper distribution centre. Assist with sorting toy donations.

Record statistical data in a clear, organized, and accurate manner. Assist in the Kettle campaign where needed through dropping off documentation, covering breaks, checking on volunteers, picking up donations at end of day.



This is a temporary part time position based on 25 hours per week.

The pay is $19 per hour. Shifts may include days, afternoons, evenings, weekend shifts, and split shifts, Monday through Saturday. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. Local travel may be associated with this position.

Minimum of one (1) year of prior related experience working in community-based programs would be a definite asset. Strong skills in all Microsoft Office products and good working knowledge and experience with email and internet-based programs.

Valid Ontario

Class "G" Driver's License, personal vehicle required and insurance, current copy of driver's abstract for review and verification that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Work in compliance with OH&S; Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army's health and safety policies and procedures.

Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
