Private Household Housekeeper / Household Assistant

Vancouver, BC | Part-time | Long-term position

We are looking for an exceptional private household housekeeper / household assistant to become a trusted and valued part of our home.

This is a long-term position for someone who takes genuine pride in their work and has a naturally high standard for cleanliness, organization and presentation. We are looking for an individual or an established two-person team who is extremely trustworthy, reliable, detail-oriented and experienced in private-home housekeeping.

We are looking for someone who notices the little things, takes initiative and understands that excellent household care is about much more than simply cleaning.

The schedule

The position will include one full day per week: A thorough, detailed cleaning and reset of the entire home.

All work must take place between 9:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday.

One additional half-day per week: Laundry care, including folding, ironing/pressing, organizing and putting clothing and linens away.

Bed-making: Making up and resetting beds throughout the house approximately twice per week, incorporated into the weekly schedule.

We are looking for someone who can commit to a consistent weekly schedule on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities include
Thorough cleaning and care of the entire home
Dusting, vacuuming and mopping
Detailed cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms
Careful attention to surfaces, fixtures and finishes
Changing and making beds and maintaining bedrooms
Laundry, including washing, folding and putting clothing and linens away
Ironing and pressing clothing and household linens
Keeping closets, linens and household items organized
Maintaining a consistently tidy, orderly and beautifully presented home
Noticing and taking care of small household details without needing to be asked
Occasional deeper-cleaning tasks as required

Careful and respectful with clothing, furnishings and household belongings
Comfortable with laundry and high-quality ironing/pressing
Someone who genuinely enjoys keeping a home beautifully maintained
Warm, professional and respectful

Looking for a reliable, long-term relationship with one household

Previous experience working in a private residence is strongly preferred.

An established housekeeping duo would also be considered if both individuals have excellent experience and references.

References & screening

Excellent references are required.

Please provide at least two recent references from previous private-household employers, including contact information.

We will also require appropriate background/criminal record screening before employment.

Compensation

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.

We are more interested in finding the right person than simply finding the lowest hourly rate. For the right candidate, we want this to be a long-term and mutually respectful arrangement.
