In this role, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and high-quality repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and components in the Acheson workshop.
You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability while delivering exceptional workmanship and maintaining a solid focus on customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities Health & Safety: Promote a Health and Safety culture within the business.
Adhere to and produce documentation for H&S; codes of practice with regard to legislation and company H&S; policies and procedures, Risk Assessments, etc., and liaise with the buildings Facilities Management where necessary.
Lead housekeeping initiatives and activities in the workshop.
Workflow: Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day-to-day operations.
Co-ordinate resources (operational and human), schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs.
Ensure parts and supplies are ordered for each job.
Assist with quoting, project management, materials purchasing and quality checks.
Provide oversight and check job estimates.
Communication and Customer Relationship: Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns with the customers and other stakeholders.
Report on manpower overruns or shortfalls.
Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested.
Work with management to respond to clients'' requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.
Receive and review feedback from customers and follow up to ensure customer satisfaction.
Work with the management to investigate customer complaints and concerns arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions.
Discuss with the team to identify the appropriate course of action.
Resource Management Develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to client inquiries.
Manage apprentices by participating in the LCA Apprenticeship program.
Actively manage labour requirements for short term and long term by assisting management with forecasting.
Competencies 3-5 years of relevant expereince Hands-on expertise: Deep knowledge of heavy equipment systems and functions Maintenance: Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and schedule repairs for heavy machinery and tools.
Software proficiency: Skill in using computer systems Team supervision: Experience hiring, training, scheduling, and mentoring technicians and staff.
Workflow planning: Ability to assign daily tasks, manage logistics, and keep production on schedule.
Communication: Clear speaking and listening skills to coordinate with clients, suppliers, and upper management.
