Your Opportunity This position covers the communities of Two Hills and Mannville and offers the dietitian a variety of experiences with clients in acute care, continuing care, outpatients, and home care. Home care clients live in the community and surrounding area of Two Hills and can reside in their own homes, lodges or supportive living facilities. The majority of patients will be adults; however, pediatric clients may be seen in outpatients. Collaboration with all members of the team, from front line food services staff to physicians is required to ensure appropriate nutrition care is provided.

Description As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Additional Required Qualifications The successful candidate will demonstrate a Patient First philosophy; be comfortable working with seniors and their families; be knowledgeable about enteral nutrition; able to support dysphagia management; and have excellent time management and interpersonal skills. A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are required to provide Home Care services.

Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a position that covers a variety of practice areas is preferred.
