Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dependable 5 Ton Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a 5-ton truck to transport freight and goods to various destinations. Your expertise in commercial driving, heavy equipment operation, and automotive repair will ensure timely deliveries and smooth operations. Duties

- Safely operate a 5-ton truck for local and regional freight deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using forklift or manual methods, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of cargo
- Inspect the vehicle daily for mechanical issues, perform basic automotive repairs as needed, and report any maintenance concerns promptly
- Verify shipment details, prepare delivery documentation, and ensure accurate record-keeping of all transported goods
- Coordinate with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to optimize delivery routes and schedules




- Conduct routine safety checks on heavy equipment and ensure compliance with safety protocols during all operations
- Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors to confirm delivery times and resolve any issues that arise during transit

Requirements

- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Proven experience operating 5-ton trucks or similar heavy vehicles in a commercial setting
- Knowledge of forklift operation, freight handling, and heavy equipment safety procedures
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and record keeping
- Physical ability to load, unload, lift heavy items, and work in various weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients
