We are an Edmonton-based manufacturing company specializing in the production of welding blankets and industrial safety products. We are a small, hands-on team of approximately 20 employees, and we take pride in producing quality products while providing dependable service to our customers.

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Coordinator to join our team and take responsibility for the day-to-day coordination and organization of our accounting functions.

About the Role The Accounting Coordinator will be responsible for managing our day-to-day Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, maintaining accurate accounting records, monitoring and tracking inventory, and ensuring that all financial documentation is properly organized and ready for our external bookkeeper.

This is a hands-on position that is well suited to someone who enjoys working independently, is highly organized, and takes pride in keeping financial and inventory records accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and post Accounts Receivable (AR) transactions, including customer invoices, payments, credits, and adjustments.
- Manage and post Accounts Payable (AP) transactions, including vendor invoices, payments, and expense documentation.
- Enter and maintain accounting information in Sage 50.
- Reconcile customer and vendor accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Preapare statements for our bookeeeper to complete monthly bank reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding customer accounts and assist with collection follow-up when required.
- Review invoices, receipts, purchase documentation, and other financial records for accuracy.
- Ensure invoices and expenses are properly coded and entered.
- Help to maintain and track company inventory using Excel, including raw materials, finished goods,



and inventory movements with our Admin Assistants.
- Maintain accurate Excel inventory records and regularly compare physical inventory to recorded quantities, investigating and reporting discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory counts and help maintain organized inventory documentation.
- Track inventory purchases, usage, transfers, and adjustments as required.
- Work with production and management to ensure inventory records are kept current and accurate.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
- Prepare complete and accurate accounting records for our external bookkeeper.
- Assist with month-end procedures and provide supporting documentation to the bookkeeper.
- Maintain accurate records of company expenses, purchases, deposits, and payments.
- Help identify errors, discrepancies, and missing documentation.
- Provide accounting and administrative support to management as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of company and financial information.

Qualifications

- 2–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in a small- to medium-sized business.
- Accounting diploma or degree from a recognized institution.
- Hands-on experience with Sage 50.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Practical experience with both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Experience with bank and account reconciliations.
- Strong Excel skills,



including the ability to maintain and manage inventory tracking spreadsheets.
- Experience tracking inventory in a manufacturing or inventory-based business is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Professional and explicit communication skills.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a small business manufacturing environment.

You should be comfortable working with numbers, maintaining accounting records, and keeping detailed inventory records in Excel. You should also be someone who notices when something doesn't look right, investigates discrepancies, asks questions when necessary, and takes ownership of keeping our financial and inventory information accurate.

Because we are a small team, flexibility and a willingness to help with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks are important.
