Become an Addiction Counsellor with RVH’s Supportive Pre-Treatment Program, promoting recovery through individual and group counselling in a live-in environment. Support clients in achieving their life goals every day. This role requires a degree or diploma in Health or Social Science, along with a college certificate in Addiction Studies.
You will support individuals facing substance use disorders and mental health concerns, utilizing a range of techniques including crisis intervention, psychoeducation, and life skills development. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care and plan efficient discharges. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and group counselling sessions
- Complete addiction-related assessments for clients
- Facilitate psychoeducational and life skills group sessions
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
- Act as a liaison with community partners for support Requirements:
- 1-3 years of direct care experience
- Certification in Addiction Studies (ICAD/CCAC preferred)
- Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
- Robust commitment to client-centered care
- Basic CPR and First Aid certifications Utilize your skills in addiction counselling to empower clients and support their recovery journeys at RVH.
