The Animal Health
Technologist will work closely with farm animal veterinarians on a range of responsibilities. Key tasks include assisting in surgeries, conducting diagnostic laboratory tests, and maintaining veterinary equipment like radiography and surgical tools. The role involves field visits and requires data analysis and record-keeping, emphasizing data-driven insights for veterinary care. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with surgeries and vaccinations as directed by veterinarians
- Conduct diagnostic tests, including blood chemistry and fecal flotation
- Manage veterinary diagnostic equipment and maintain inventory
- Compile reports and perform statistical analysis on findings
- Conduct field visits and assist with disease surveillance
Requirements:
- Completion of an Animal Health Technology program
- Registered Veterinary Technologist Certification (RVT)
- Experience in farm animal veterinary medicine
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required
- Capacity to handle physical demands of the job
