Job Summary

We are currently looking for a responsible, organized, and enthusiastic Assistant Program Supervisor to support the day-to-day operation of our childcare program and work closely with the Program Supervisor and educator team.

Responsibilities The Assistant Program Supervisor will assist with: Supporting the Program Supervisor with the daily operation of the childcare centre. Providing leadership, guidance, and support to Early Childhood Educators. Helping organize staff schedules, breaks, classroom coverage, and daily staffing needs.

Working directly in classrooms and being included in educator-to-child ratios as required. Covering staff lunch breaks, rest breaks, absences, and other classroom coverage as needed throughout the day. Moving between classrooms when necessary to maintain required educator-to-child ratios and ensure appropriate supervision.

Providing direct care and active supervision to children when working in ratio. Monitoring educator-to-child ratios and ensuring appropriate supervision of children. Supporting the planning and implementation of high-quality, play-based programming.

Ensuring classrooms are safe, clean, organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate. Supporting staff in following centre policies, procedures, and Alberta childcare licensing requirements. Communicating professionally and respectfully with children, families, educators, and management.

Assisting with parent questions, concerns, tours, and enrolment-related matters when required. Supporting staff orientation,



training, and ongoing professional development. Assisting with maintaining required records, documentation, attendance, and other administrative responsibilities.

Helping maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture. Supporting the Program Supervisor with inspections, licensing requirements, and general centre operations. Taking responsibility for centre operations in the absence of the Program Supervisor when assigned.

Performing other duties related to the position as required.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will have: Alberta Early Childhood Educator certification. Level 2 or Level 3 preferred. Previous experience working in a licensed childcare setting. Leadership or supervisory experience in childcare is an asset.

Good understanding of child development and play-based early learning. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to provide positive leadership and work effectively as part of a team.

Ability to communicate professionally with parents and families.

Current First

Aid certification or willingness to obtain it.

Clear Criminal Record

Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, as required. A dependable, caring, professional, and positive attitude. Must be comfortable working directly with children, going into ratio, and providing classroom coverage as operationally required.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
