Our client is seeking a Junior Associate Lawyer (1+ years post-call experience) to join its Debt Recovery and Real Estate practice in Toronto. This role offers a unique opportunity for a junior lawyer to build their expertise in debt recovery and real estate transactions while receiving hands-on mentorship and guidance from highly experienced lawyers.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with and manage mortgage enforcement and debt recovery matters.
- Handle residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinancing.
- Draft, review, and execute legal documentation related to mortgage enforcement and real estate transactional matters.
- Manage files from opening through completion.
- Liaise with clients, lenders, financial institutions, realtors, and opposing counsel.
- Support senior lawyers on complex files and ongoing practice development initiatives.
- Maintain organized case management practices and meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.

Qualifications

- Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
- 1+ years of post-call experience in mortgage enforcement, debt recovery, real estate transactions, or a combination thereof.




- Exposure to residential purchase and sale transactions, refinances, mortgage registrations, title review, and real estate closings.
- Familiarity with mortgage enforcement proceedings, debt recovery matters, and related enforcement processes is considered a strong asset.
- Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple files and competing deadlines effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, attention to detail, and communication skills, with a skilled and client-focused approach.
