Milton Banquet & Conference Centre is seeking a dependable, experienced Banquet Cook to join our culinary team in a permanent, year-round position.

We are looking for a capable, hands-on cook who can complete routine preparation and cooking assignments without constant supervision while remaining willing to support the full needs of the kitchen. This includes food preparation, event execution, cleaning, dishes and maintaining an organized workspace.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to grow into something greater. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn different areas of banquet and catering production, expand their responsibilities and develop toward a more senior role as they demonstrate reliability, capability and leadership.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook food for weddings, corporate functions, social events and catering orders
- Complete assigned production and preparation independently
- Support plated, buffet and other high-volume event service
- Follow recipes, portion standards and event production timelines
- Assist with pizza preparation or learn our pizza-production process
- Maintain food quality, presentation and consistency
- Follow food-safety, sanitation and allergen procedures
- Keep workstations, equipment and storage areas clean and organized
- Assist with dishes, kitchen cleaning, setup and closing responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with the chef and other members of the event team

What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional cooking experience in a banquet, catering, fine-dining or high-volume kitchen
- Ability to work efficiently without constant supervision
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic




- Willingness to contribute to all kitchen responsibilities, including cleaning and dishes
- Ability to remain organized and composed during busy event service
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and late-night events when scheduled
- Pizza-making experience is an asset; willingness and ability to learn is required
- Food Handler certification is preferred
- Ability to reliably commute to our Milton location for scheduled shifts
- Interest in developing new skills and growing into greater responsibility

Position Details
- Permanent, full time and year-round
- Guaranteed minimum of 35 hours per week
- Approximately 35–44 hours per week
- Weekly schedules provided, with advance notice of upcoming events
- Event-driven schedule with varying shift times
- $20–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Starting as soon as possible

About Us Milton Banquet & Conference Centre is an established wedding, event and catering venue located on 36 acres in Milton. Our culinary team produces a wide variety of menus for weddings, corporate functions, celebrations, public dining experiences and catered events.
