We are seeking an energetic and friendly Barista / Cafe Attendant to join our vibrant team! In this role, you will be the welcoming face of our café, delivering exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. You’ll be responsible for operating POS systems, managing food and drink orders efficiently, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service and customer engagement while working in a lively, rapid-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care.
- Operate POS systems to process transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with integrity.
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide outstanding service.
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food preparation stations, seating areas, and equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and hygiene standards are met.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high service standards.
Experience
- Previous 1+ years of barista experience or food service experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Experience in serving, cashiering, or food preparation within the food industry is desirable.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and managing transactions accurately.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling techniques is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure customer satisfaction.
